News: 2019 - 2020 Season

logo arfcAnother year of rugby is upon us and the ARFC community is buzzing with excitement.  The youth programs will once again feature some of the best rugby talent in the province.  The club will be running u14/16/19 girls teams, u15/17/19 boys teams and minis again this year.

The ARFC men look to the season as another step in the right direction.  Coaches, Dave Chambers and Chris Chalmers have been steadily building a solid program which saw the 1st division men push Bayside all the way in the 2019 BC finals.  This year the goal is to go one step further and take home the championship.  The division 2 squad also wants to keep building.  After missing the playoffs 2 years ago, they came into the quater-finals and pushed a talented Bayside team right to the limit.  And finally, the big excitement around the ARFC mens program is the return of the third division squad. Something that Abbotsford was always proud of was being a 3-team club and everyone is excited to have the thirds back in the fold.

The ARFC women again look to have another outstanding season.  Last year couldn't have gone much better for the women as they were dominant throughout the season, going undeafeated en route to a BC championship.  The season for the ladies gets going on Tuesday as the first training session at Delair gets underway.  As always, the womens team welcomes anyone looking to return to rugby or try rugby for the first time.
