Abby Players on BC Teams

bc rugbyA number of Abbotsford players are involved with various BC teams this summer. Ages vary from men's and women's all the way through to U-14 boys. We are proud of our local rugby players and the work that they have put forth to earn a spot on our provincial teams.

Specifically, we'd like to recognize the following players:

Chalmers Makes Canadian Rugby League Team

Abbotsford's Chris Chalmers was recently chosen to play for the Canadian National Rugby League team. He is also currently in England as one of two Canadian players selected for a rugby league exchange. Rugby League is a variation of Rugby (the ARFC plays Rugby Union) that involves less players and no rucks.

Chalmers played for Surrey in the summer Rugby League series where he was recognized and subsequently chosen for the Canada Wolverines. His excellent work with them had him recognized for an exchange program with Hull FC, where he will spend a month training with the English squad.
