An astonishing 17 players from the ARFC have been selected to represent BC on four different teams at the USA Sevens in Las Vegas this coming weekend. Two more have been named as non-travelling reserves. Three others are playing for the Cayman Islands team. The tournament runs from Feb 12-15 in Vegas. ARFC Div 1 player Connor Hunter has been named as captain of the BC U-23 team.
Tyson Appeldoorn, Darwin Guevara, Connor Hunter, and Spencer Miller (ARFC product at UBC) have all been selected for the BC U-23 team competing in the men's open division.
The twins Mackenzie and Chelsea Fowler, both Heritage Park products (pictured above) playing for our Abby Women in the premier division, have been selected for BC U-23 Women's team.
Autumn Garrett, Nakisa Levale, Cass Baldo, Danika Elia, Mackenzie Carson, Katrina Moorthy, Morgan Walker, and Sophia Belsher are all with the BC U-18 girls team.
Corben Bowen, Connor Byron, and Diego Zuniga have all been selected for BC U-16, with Teo DeGianni and Carter Miller slated as non-travelling reserves still training with the group.
Three other ARFC players will be venturing to Vegas to play with a Cayman Islands team. Mike Wilson, Konrad Rybkowski, and Lucas de Beer will be suiting up for this team.
Jorden Sandover-Best, an ARFC product playing at UBC will be playing for the Canada Maple Leafs in the men's open division.
Justin Douglas is unfortunately injured and won't be playing with Canada in Vegas.
