The Abbotsford Rugby Club Men's Div 1 team finished the first half of the season undefeated with a final win over Kamloops 33-19. The defending BC Div 1 champions have demonstrated that they have both offensive fire-power and defensive prowess having led the league in both points for and against with an average of 37.20 points per game and 13.10 against (visit esportsdesk for more details).
The Division 2 side finished 3-5-1, and had many close games that could have gone either way. The men's team is looking forward to off-season training before the second half of the season starts in January. All players are welcome to indoor training. Updates will be posted in the 'Upcoming Events' column on the home page. The men's side is also looking forward to having graduating U-19 players join the team in the New Year to offer more competition to an already tight race for selections. The club will be running a third division men's side in the New Year as well.
The Abbotsford women have had a successful but disappointing first half. The women will finish the season 10-0 after another forfeit win to finish the season, but have unfortunately only played 5 games because many teams have forfeited. The ladies are disappointed because with all the forfeits, they don't feel they have had ample opportunity to test themselves against the opposition. The ladies are strong in numbers and have been working hard to gel as a unit. They look forward to continuing their development over the off-season in preparation for the second half in January where they will look to challenge again for a BC Championship.
Congratulations to all Abbotsford teams as the first half of the season comes to a close!
