The Abbotsford Rugby Club had a youth team on tour in the United Kingdom during spring break. Doug Primrose, Clayton Radons, Ron Sweeney and Al Borrows led the tour of Wales and England.
The group of grade 10, 11, and 12 students lost their first game to Sir Thomas Picton in Wales 42-0. Coach Primrose noted that the Abbotsford boys played hard against an inspired Picton squad where many of the home town players were playing their final game ever for their school...

We just finished training for our last game of the tour which is at 7:00pm tonight under the lights. After playing Greenhill School, we then traveled to Swansea and played a very tough Gwyer School and lost 24-13. This was our best game so far on tour as they are one of the top sides over here. The coaches and the referee said we were the best Canadian side they have played! They had a couple of Welsh Internationals playing for them.
We spent the day in York yesteray and saw the York Minster. We walked up 275 stair to the tower lookout. Some of the boys went to the York Dungeon, while others wanted the free time to shop. It has been a great tour and we will see parents Saturday in Seattle to pick the boys up!! They have been very good.
The boys returned after finishing the trip 0-3-1 but grew together as a team. They have set up a Facebook page with pictures from the trip.
