Do you enjoy writing? Do like to stay on top of what's going on with rugby in Abbotsford? Do you like taking action shots at games?
The ARFC is looking for writers and photographers to join their team of reporters to keep their website and program up to date throughout the season. If this interests you, read on!
It is the goal of the Abbotsford Rugby Club media team to keep the website up to date throughout the season by updating scores, keeping information current, and providing multiple weekly articles for readers to peruse. It is also our goal to create weekly articles or player profiles that are inserted into our game day programs with rosters.
The ARFC website has been revamped over the past year thanks to the efforts of Rob Phillips and Sandbox Marketing. It now operates in a manner that allows for front end loading of the site. This means that specific members can be given permission to edit content on certain pages, including news. It is a relatively simple process that allows for many members to add content and maintain the site. Websites are accessed more frequently if they are updated regularly. We want our site to be one of the leading rugby websites in BC and Canada. We can't do this without updating the site regularly and we need your help to make this happen!
We will also be creating an ARFC game day program for the 2008-9 season. This will happen over the next month and we are looking for someone to contribute special interest articles to this program. Also, each week we are hoping to have current rosters with player profiles or relevant articles as inserts. We are hoping we can have club patrons help us write.
For both the website and for the program, "a picture is worth a thousand words" and pictures have been the biggest hit on the site. Debby Hunter has done a fabulous job of taking pictures for the club over the past couple of years, but can only be in one location at a time. If you have interest in taking photos and loading them onto a photoshare site for players to enjoy, we would greatly appreciate your services.
